This is the dataset for the preprint "Sampling hard circuits with verifiably high fidelity". The notebook experiment_analysis.ipynb shows how to process the experiment data once unzipped and calculate the fidelity with direct fidelity estimation (DFE), as presented in main text of the paper and in Table S1 in the supplementary. It also shows how to calculate the linear cross-entropy benchmarking score (XEB), which can be loaded from the folder below. The xeb_data folder contains: File name Description Experiment 1 experiment1_468T_xeb_bitstrings.npy 2051 bitstrings (Qiskit endianness) for the doped 70 X 70 circuit with 468 T gates. Bitflip correction from readout mitigation is applied. Experiment 2 experiment2_468T_xeb_bitstrings.npy 2025 bitstrings (Qiskit endianness) for the doped 70 X 70 circuit with 468 T gates. Bitflip correction from readout mitigation is applied. Experiment 2 experiment2_75T_xeb_bitstrings.npy 1995 bitstrings (Qiskit endianness) for the doped 70 X 70 circuit with 75 T gates. Bitflip correction from readout mitigation is applied. Experiment 2 experiment2_75T_xeb_amplitudes.npy 1995 classically simulated amplitudes (same order as the bitstrings above) for the doped 70 X 70 circuit with 75 T gates. These are used to calculate XEB. It also contains qpu_usage.csv, a csv containing the QPU usage times (in seconds) for each subjob.
