Downscaled Wind Data at 100m Height over Atlantic Europe (2030–2059, SSP2-4.5)

This dataset contains high-resolution wind speed and wind direction data used in the scientific article "Identifying floating offshore wind farm designs which minimize Levelized Cost of Energy considering intra-array wake effect in Atlantic Europe". The data result from a dynamical downscaling process using the Weather Research and Forecasting (WRF) model, applied to future climate projections under the SSP2-4.5 scenario. Specifically, a multi-model ensemble of CMIP6 global climate projections was downscaled to produce hourly wind fields over the Atlantic façade of Europe, covering a regular domain with a spatial resolution of 0.1 degrees. The wind variables are computed at a hub height of 100 meters above sea level, representative of typical offshore wind turbine installations. This dataset provides daily values of: Wind speed at 100 m (units: m/s) Wind direction at 100 m (units: degrees from north) The domain spans the eastern North Atlantic, from southern Portugal to northern Scotland, including the Bay of Biscay and parts of the North Sea. The time span covered by the data is from 2030 to 2059, with daily resolution. This dataset is particularly suitable for offshore wind energy assessment, climate impact studies, and energy system modeling under future climate conditions.
