Vehicle mounted Terrestrial laser scanner TLS survey at Macquarie Island 2024

As part of the 2023/2024 season Voyage V4 resupply, The Mapping Program sent a round trip expeditioner to survey the Isthmus of Macquarie Island station. Part of this survey involved using a RiEGL VZ400i terrestrial laser scanner (TLS) Scanning was conducted across multiple days of the 17 day resupply window in order to achieve as much coverage as possible of the external topography and station infrastructure. The VZ400i uses an top mounted GNSS receiver to receive a position, the scans were registered together with the GNSS position combined with cloud to cloud registration only. All scans from the VZ400i were captured while it was mounted on a Polaris RangerThis record contains the raw unprocessed data from the scanner for the resupply window.
