The present invention relates to a method for increasing the yield and the biomass in a plant， by increasing the expression of L-aspartate oxidase within the plant. The method according to the invention allows an increase in the photosynthetic capacities of plants via an increase in the amounts of NAD and its derivatives within said plants. The invention relates to plants obtained by such a process.
