The Eurasian spruce bark beetle Ips typographus is a known devasting pest for Picea abies, a common conifer in Europe. In this study, we fed the beetles to host (Picea abies) tissues with varied defense vigor. We collected the beetles from different feeding treatments and extracted the gut for transcriptomic analysis.
