Dataset on Plant Species Diversity of the Liushao Mountains

The Liushao Mountains, located in the transboundary area between the karst region of southwestern China and northern Vietnam, represent a critical ecological transition zone and biodiversity hotspot. Its complex mid-mountain karst topography and highly fragmented habitats foster a unique and rich flora. This dataset aims to provide an authoritative and comprehensive checklist of vascular plants for the Liushao Mountains, establishing core data for regional biodiversity research, conservation, and management.This dataset was compiled by systematically integrating field surveys, specimen records (from CVH, NSII, GBIF, etc.), and historical literature, resulting in a complete checklist of 6,361 species. It is presented as a structured Excel file, where each record contains 13 key fields: Phylum, Family, Genus, Scientific Name, Chinese Name, National Protection Rank, Invasive Rank, Distribution Locality, Herbarium Code, Barcode, Collector, Collection Number, and Reference. Beyond basic taxonomic information, it integrates conservation and invasive status, along with detailed specimen vouchers and distribution localities, significantly enhancing its value for both scientific research and practical applications.This dataset stands as the most systematic core checklist of plant diversity for the Liushao Mountains to date. It can be directly utilized in various fields, including species diversity inventory, rare and endangered plant assessment, early warning of alien invasive plants, floristic and geographical studies, and transboundary biodiversity conservation.
