资源简介:
This package contains all of the code and data required to replicate the tables and figures in the paper "The Hole in the Doughnut: Formalizing and Testing a Key Model of Degrowth." Raw data is shared where permitted. Processing code is shared.

The authors construct a set of doughnut-style indicators from primarily public data to test the relationship between economic freedom and outcome factors other than simple economic growth, stressing the importance of assessing factors other than just economic development, in a similar to that proposed by Kate Raworth. As such, this data combines panel data on country-level outcomes from 1995 to 2023, where available, transformed into 0-1 continuous value indicators, mimicking the style of the Human Development Index, partialed out to component indicators (income, education, life expectancy). The panel data additionally covers factors such as internet access and air pollution mortality, as well as indicators calculated by the Environmental Performance Index, to capture traditionally non-priced outcomes of capitalism. As such, panel data are constructed using the components of HDI, IHDI, HPI, EPI, and EFW. Additionally, cross-sectional data covers a broad set of indicators which attempt to construct the "inner" and "outer" rings which Raworth proposed in her "Doughnut Economics" framework.
