资源简介:

Drafts made out and signed by clergymen in payment of their accounts. Each draft is numbered and shows: date, amount in sterling currency, name of payee, account to which the amount is to be charged, and quarterly period in which the expense is incurred. It is sometimes specified that the draft is to be paid in Spanish dollars at the rate of 4/4d to the dollar. The accounts chargeable were either the Clergy and School Account or the Improvement and Building Account, depending on the nature of the transaction for which the draft was drawn. After March 1831, accounts were paid monthly rather than quarterly, and from July of that year the drafts were drawn on the individual accounts of the clergymen with the Commission for Managing the Church and School Estates. At intervals throughout the volumes are schedules of drafts (consolidations) taken up at the Bank of Australia and the Bank of New South Wales. (9/2711-12, 4/6983). 3 vols. Note:This description is extracted from Concise Guide to the State Archives of New South Wales, 3rd Edition 2000.
