PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a wet type nonwoven fabric including a polyphenylene sulfide fiber which hardly causes broken paper when produced by wet type papermaking method and has excellent chemical resistance. SOLUTION: The wet type nonwoven fabric including a PPS fiber is characterized by consisting of only a polyphenylene sulfide fiber， including a polyphenylene sulfide fiber having a variant cross section and a polyphenylene sulfide fiber having a circular cross section with a diameter of the fiber of 5 μm or under， and having a basis weight of 8 g/m 2 or more and 200 g/m2 or under， wherein the content of the polyphenylene sulfide fiber having a circular cross section with a diameter of the fiber being 5 μm or under is 5 mass% or more and 70 mass% or under with respect to the total fiber mass.SELECTED DRAWING: None
