资源简介:
Brightly coloured carpets would have covered the floors of Ashurbapinal's palace. This stone slab gives us an idea of how they once looked. Part of a doorsill from the throne room, it is carved with intricate patterns that replicate the designs found on hand-woven carpets. Alternating lotus flowers and buds form the outer border. An inner border of rosettes frames a pattern of interlocking circles representing flowers. North Palace, Nineveh, Iraq From the 'I am Ashurbapinal' exhibition at The British Museum, 2019
