New Streptomyces genomes to augment natural product discovery

We present a cost-efficient sequencing protocol based on Nanopore and Illumina to generate genome assemblies of GC-rich Streptomyces. We made use of hybrid assembly where long-read assemblies are first generated and the resulting assemblies are then subjected to multiple rounds of polishing with short-reads. This work resulted in 8 genomes, 7 of which are of high quality (93-99% CheckM completeness).
