Veratrum nigrum plants were treated by selected precursors and elicitor in order to overexpression genes involved in steroidal alkaloids biosynthesis. Squalene and cholesterol are intermediates in jervine biosynthesis pathway so they were used like precursors. Production of secondary metabolites in V. nigrum enhanced also by the treatment with elicitor such as methyl jasmonate. Sample after elicitation and control probes were used in cDNA-RDA method. the third difference products were sequenced by MiSeq Illumina technology.
