Replication Data for: Effects of Classroom-Based Audiovisual High-Variability Phonetic Training on L1-Mandarin Speakers’ Perception and Production of English Contrasts: The Role of Articulatory Visual Salience

This dataset contains individual participant accuracy scores from a 16-week classroom-based audiovisual high-variability phonetic training (AV-HVPT) study conducted with adult native Mandarin-speaking university students in China.It includes perception accuracy (percentage correct on an AXB discrimination task with nonsense words) for the six English contrasts /θ/-/s/, /ð/-/z/, /dʒ/-/ʈʂ/, /æ/-/ɑ/, /ɪ/-/i/, and /ʊ/-/u/, as well as production accuracy (percentage correct on a sentence-reading task) for the six corresponding English sounds /θ/, /ð/, /dʒ/, /æ/, /ɪ/, and /ʊ/. Scores were collected at three time points: pre-test, immediate post-test, and two-month delayed post-test.
