This project provides a transcriptome dataset of Quercus glauca generated to investigate gene expression responses to drought stress and exogenous brassinosteroid treatment. Two year old Quercus glauca seedlings were subjected to polyethylene glycol induced drought stress and treated with different concentrations of brassinosteroids under controlled growth conditions. Leaf tissues were collected at multiple time points after treatment for RNA sequencing. Total RNA extracted from leaf samples was used for RNA Seq library construction and sequenced on an Illumina platform with paired end reads. Sequencing reads were mapped to a reference genome for gene level quantification and differential expression analysis. Transcriptomic data were further analyzed to characterize transcriptional reprogramming associated with drought stress and brassinosteroid mediated regulation. This dataset provides a resource for studying hormone regulated drought adaptation mechanisms in woody plant species and supports further investigation of stress responsive gene networks in Quercus glauca.
