Xylella fastidiosa subsp. multiplex Genome sequencing and assembly. Xylella fastidiosa subsp. multiplex

Xylella fastidiosa is a bacterial plant pathogen disseminated across the Americas, while its presence is currently described in several European countries. Ten novel isolates were isolated in Spain, seven isolates in Alicante from Helicrysum italicum (IVIA6586-2), Rhamnus alaternus (IVIA6629), Helicrysum italicum (IVIA6731), Prunus dulcis (IAS-AXF-212H7, IAS-AXF-235T10, IVIA6902, IVIA6903), and three isolates in Baleares Islands from Ficus carica (XYL1981) and from Prunus dulcis (XF3348, XYL1752). All the ten isolates belong to X. fastidiosa subsp. multiplex. The taxonomic assignation to a subpecies was based on MLST scheme using 7 housekeeping genes (Yuan et al., 2010) and whole-genome sequencing using the Illumina technology.
