Age-associated Changes in the Transcriptome of SCA7 Mice

Atxn7 repeat expansion mutations lead to ataxia phenotypes. Total cerebellar RNA from mice with normal Atxn7 repeat lengths and expanded repeats (92 CAG) were sequenced to compared gene expression changes at 12 and 29 weeks of age in normal vs. expanded repeats. Overall design: Comparison of gene expression in cerebellum of mice to examine effects of repeat expansion in the Atxn7 gene. Repeats of normal length and length 92 CAG, at age 12 weeks and 29 weeks were compared (4 conditions). Each condition was sampled in triplicate, with tissue from three mice pooled in each sample.
