Sequencing and description of mitochondrial genome of Coquillettidia venezuelensis, Trichoprosopon digitatum, and Uranotaenia calosomata (Diptera: Culicidae)

Mosquitoes comprise a monophyletic taxon consisting of approximately 3,700 species, with occurrence records on most continents and recognized for their great importance in the transmission of several infectious agents on a global scale. Given the still unavailability of information related to the evolutionary biology and molecular taxonomy of representatives of this group, we report here the complete sequencing of the mitochondrial genome of representatives of the Brazilian Amazonian populations of Coquillettidia venezuelensis Theobald, 1912, Trichoprosopon digitatum Rondani, 1848, and Uranotaenia calosomata Dyar & Knab, 1907, obtained from the analysis of metatranscriptomic data.
