资源简介:
The project aims to reduce sediment load and debris into the Great Sandy Strait through riparian rehabilitation, debris clean up and re-vegetation of the embankments of Deep Creek, an important tributary of the Mary River. Work will be undertaken on both sides of Deep Creek along a 1.6km section, just prior to where it joins the Mary River at Gympie. Some flood debris could be left in place to provide protection to planting areas. However, due to the high flood frequency in recent years and extent of impact (up to 30m from stream) they would be cut to smaller sizes and moved away from the stream. Fencing could be used to trap debris in the future. Coir matting will be placed on areas where there is active scour/erosion.
