资源简介:
Staphylococci are common commensal bacteria of the skin and mucous membranes of humans and other animals. Staphylococcus aureus is the major pathogen of the genus and is associated to humans, other mammals and birds. Staphylococci, especially CoNS, are notorious for their ability to accrue antimicrobial resistance (AMR) determinants and to produce biofilm, which makes associated infections particularly difficult to treat. Understanding the emergence and spread of AMR determinants in different environments is a key element in tackling the global health crisis of AMR in pathogens. Bacteriophages may be suitable agents for the acquisition and spread of AMR in different ecosystems through transduction. In addition, non-transducing phages are promising candidates for the development of novel antimicrobial resistance therapies against AMR bacteria. However, very limited data are available on staphylococcal phages from CoNS and from environmental samples. In this work, we have analysed by throughput shotgun sequencing several environment-associated staphylococcal genomes with novel AMR determinants as well as a number of staphylococcal phages from wastewater. This bioproject contains several viral and bacterial genomes from environment-associated samples.
