资源简介:
Phragmites karka plants occupy most of the northern shoreline of Chilika Lagoon, a brackish water lagoon in the East coast of India in the Odisha state. In general, Phragmites is large perennial grasses that grow mostly as an emergent macrophyte in the shoreline of wetlands. This invasive weed has a cosmopolitan distribution throughout the world and is well tolerant to alkaline and saline conditions typical to brackish water lagoons. While studying the endophytic bacterial communities of P. karka, a bacterial strain MP23T was isolated from the root tissue. A polyphasic taxonomic approach was applied for the detailed characterization of strain MP23T. On the basis of differences in biochemical and genomic features, it was proposed that strain MP23T represents a new species of the genus Mangrovibacter of the family Enterobacteriaceae (Behera et al., 2016). Whole-genome shotgun sequencing of the strain MP23T was performed on an Illumina MiSeq platform with a paired-end module.
