This dataset underpins the research article titled “Integrated Analysis of Reservoir Storage Fluctuations and Distribution Loss in Gondar City's Water Supply,” focusing on the Angereb Reservoir in Gondar, Ethiopia. It encompasses spatial and tabular data capturing water surface area dynamics and volume variations from 2016 to 2024, across four seasonal snapshots annually: mid-January (winter), April (spring), July (summer), and October (autumn). Dataset Components: Water Indices (NDWI & MNDWI): Raster layers derived from Sentinel-2 Level-1C surface reflectance images, stored in GeoTIFF format. NDWI (Normalized Difference Water Index): (Green - NIR) / (Green + NIR) MNDWI (Modified NDWI): (Green - SWIR1) / (Green + SWIR1) (for only July) These indices facilitate water body delineation and are suitable for GIS-based analysis. Reservoir Polygons: Digitized shapefiles delineate the reservoir surface at each time point. Polygons were created via thresholding of NDWI/MNDWI layers, with manual refinements. Projection: WGS 84 / UTM Zone 37N. These polygons form the basis for surface area and volume calculations. Digital Elevation Models (DEMs): ALOS PALSAR DEMs (12.5m resolution), clipped to the reservoir extent for each season. They enable terrain analysis, elevation profiling, and volume estimation via elevation difference methods
