A phosphotungstic acid based fixative unambiguously demonstrated exocytosis of synaptic vesicles, their formation from neurotubules, and the exocytosis of neurotubules.
Enclosed paper gives history of work,methodology, and a guide to the possible developement of a specific labeling fixative for acetylcholine.
This work is unpublished and was aborted in 1968. The author passes the torch.
