Geojunxion Eco Alert Zones - Low emission zones / smart geofences data is part of its premium location aware content and offers a unique data set of more than 2.500 daily updated zones with traffic entry restrictions worldwide using smart geofence technology. The first low emission zone were set up in Sweden in 1996 and have since spread to most of the European countries and around the globe. Thousands of cities and regions are subject to dynamically increasing regulations and restrictions due to increase of air pollution and congestions. Each Zone type can apply to either passenger vehicles, light commercial vehicles (up to 3.5T) and heavy vehicles or all of them. Low Emission and Congestion Zones can ban specific vehicles generally, cover larger areas with sticker or badge, plates numbers, enforced with camera systems. They can be permanent, seasonal and temporary (for example activated if air pollution becomes critical). Each Zone type can apply to either passenger vehicles, light commercial vehicles (up to 3.5T) and heavy vehicles or all of them. Sourcing is always based on the most authoritative sources available. In-depth research is required to locate sources (complex municipal archives, rarely ad hoc landing pages) however, geometries are not necessarily readily available (textual information only, planimetries and documents published separately, …). We manually digitize geometries using high resolution satellite imagery based on sources found. Specific attributes per zone are created, the text is in both local language(s) and English. Fees and penalties are shown in local currency All data is available through an API. Regardless of zone type (seasonal, permanent, temporary, ZTL, etc), all zones are checked on a regular basis (daily or weekly) and updated when applicable. The zone activation is monitored separately from zone attributes. Checks are done as a combination of automatic notification and manual verification. All changes are made in the database immediately upon detection. Updates available as requested by region, country or just as incremental updates.
