Global Museum Visitor Reviews Dataset: Textual Insights from Google Reviews Ver2

This dataset comprises 5,856 anonymized Google Maps reviews ranging from January 2020 up to December 2024, from 59 of the world’s most visited museums. The museums selected based on The Art Newspaper’s ranking published in March 2024. The reviews were gathered using the OutScraper tool and subsequently filtered to include only textual entries. Each review entry is enriched with a variety of metrics, including: Museum Name, Original Review Text, Translated Version (when applicable), Character Count, Processed Reviews, Sentiment Scores (both compound and categorical), Review Rating, Review Datetime in UTC, Review Likes, and Assigned Topic Label derived from semi-supervised topic modeling. All non-English reviews have been translated into English using Google Translate to ensure consistency in analysis. The second sheet of the dataset includes all the museums, their country, address and number of reviews per institution.
