This study performed transcriptome sequencing of five Siganidae species to expand genetic resources for aquaculture and evolutionary analysis. Subsequently, by estimating divergence times and screening for rapidly evolving and positively selected genes, we revealed the molecular mechanisms underlying their phenotypic adaptation to the environment.
