The data set for this study include two outcome variables (organic vegetable production (OVP) adoption and organic share of the total cropland (extent of OVP adoption) and independent variables used to explain the likelihood and extent of OVP adoption. The independent variables comprise farmer characteristics (e.g., sex, age, educ, economic status off-farm work, household size, and location), farm-specific factors (e.g., land ownership, land size, time of cultivation), and institutional factors (e.g., cooperative membership and extension).<br>
