Shapefile and geopackage with information on territorial organization of the Spanish Empire in America, 1701-1808 (spatio-temporal objects), organized in 11 levels (principal divisions; audiencias; intendencies; larger provinces; provinces; smaller provinces; jurisdictions; districts; fiefdoms; archbishoprics; bishoprics; frontiers/uncontrolled areas), plus one representation of foreign European claims/possessions in the Americas of the period. Caution: Territorial entities may have 2 or more synchronic representations if reconstructed on more than one hierarchical level! Each object has a chronological validity marked by the fields START and END_
