This dataset contains the coding matrix developed for the configurative, mechanism-centered review reported in Recognition Infrastructures in Recycling and Waste Governance: Visibility, Evaluation, and the Production of Sustained Sustainability. The matrix records the analytical coding of 37 documents spanning recycling, waste governance, feedback systems, social norms, gamification, certification, educational interventions, awards, competitions, and related evaluative systems. Coding focuses on explanatory mechanisms—including visibility, evaluation, credibility, distinction, and embedding—rather than intervention effectiveness. The dataset documents the comparative analytical process used to reconstruct the recognition infrastructures framework presented in the accompanying article.
