资源简介:
This series contains administrative records and some newsletters, brochures and promotional material relating to the Pied Pipers and Uncle Bobs auxiliaries that were brought together by a RCH public relations manager possibly around 1995 (the date of the most recent records in the series). The Pied Pipers and Uncle Bobs Club are Royal Children's Hospital (RCH) auxiliaries. Auxiliaries are fund raising groups supporting the RCH. They consist of community groups including like-minded business people, parents, students, young people and senior citizens. The Pied Pipers and Uncle Bob's club have a high public profile due to their association with the RCH Good Friday Appeal (a major fund-raising appeal of the RCH).The Pied Pipers began in June 1969 when a small group of people participating in a Good Friday Appeal decided to form a social and fundraising club. The Uncle Bobs club was formed by four men in December 1941. Further information about the history and activities of the clubs may be found in the official history of the RCH, The Royal Children's Hospital; A History of Faith, Science and Love, and at the website of the Good Friday Appeal ( accessed 21 May 2013).As of 2013 both the Pied Pipers and the Uncle Bobs Club are still in operation.Further records relating to RCH auxiliaries may be found in VPRS 16829 Minutes, General Correspondence and Financial Records of the Royal Children's Hospital Auxiliaries 1922 - 2010.Prior to transfer to Public Record Office Victoria, the records in this series were maintained as part of the Royal Children's Hospital (RCH) Archives. They were part of RCH accession number 2008/009.
