To assess the temporal dynamics of cold response mechanisms following chill exposure in the bumble bees, commercially reared Bombus impatiens workers were randomly assigned to control or acute cold stress (inducing chill coma) treatments and immediately stored for RNA preservation at predetermined sampling time periods. Whole RNA was extracted from the thoracic muscles of worker and sequenced on an Illumina NovaSeq 6000 SR100.
