We sequenced the genotype of a Drosophila melanogaster homozygous individuals collected from the strain symbolised w; gammaCOP14a/TM6TbHu, derived in our laboratory by the imprecise excision of the P{lacW} transposon from gammaCOPS057302 progenitor (https://flybase.org/reports/FBal0191889#phenotypic_data_sub). This insertion is located in gammaCOP (Coat Protein (coatomer) gamma) essential gene located on 3R chromosome. The allele gammaCOP14a is viable in homozygous individuals, but the adults are sterile inter se. This D. melanogaster line was constructed by outcrossing w; gammaCOP14a/TM6TbHu strain in order to replace the mutant white allele with the wild type one.The sequencing experiment was conducted using Oxford Nanopore Technologies' platform with the Ligation Sequencing Kit v14, starting from 1465 ng of DNA input. Genomic DNA was extracted from 17 male and 17 female individuals using a conventional protocol based on Tris-HCl, EDTA, NaCl, SDS, KAc and LiCl, yielding a 257 ng/uL concentration. Sequencing was performed on a MinION Mk1B device, utilizing a FLO-MIN114 Flow Cell.
