STUDY ON THE VALIDATION AND OVEREXPRESSION OF OLEAGINOUS YEAST GENES INVOLVED IN LIPID BIOSYNTHESIS FOR ENHANCED BIODIESEL PRODUCTION

Whole transcriptome analysis of the yeast Candida tropicalis was carried out to predict its lipid biosynthetic pathway responsible for its oleaginousity. The new genetic strategy to engineer and enhance the isolates lipid accumulation ability has to be accomplished. The implementation of genetic engineering approaches in biofuel studies would be helpful in the empowerment of good quality biodiesel production in India.
