The aim of the study was to evaluate Y. enterocoltica prevalence in the environment of two industrial cheese making plants in Sardinia and to characterize the isolates. Bio.serotyping, antimicrobial resistance and whole genome sequencing were conducted. Results showed that Y. enterecolitica biotype 1A is frequently isolated from the environment of the chese making plants, thus potentially posing a risk for consumer health.
