Aging of personality judgment ability: The moderating role of information richness-The self-introduction videos of target characters

The target character completes the self introduction recording as required: walk to the center of the screen and sit on the designated chair, greet the camera first, then introduce their surname, age, profession/occupation/pre retirement occupation, and finally briefly state an impressive recent event (the content is not limited, but they must be an important participant in the event). Before recording, the target character is informed that self introduction is to help viewers quickly understand themselves, but try to avoid using evaluative vocabulary. Each original video material is 60-95 seconds long, and there is no significant difference in the video duration of the target characters between the two age groups. After recording, use video editing software to process the raw materials, add real-time subtitles below the raw video, and generate rich information materials including real-time text, raw audio, and images; Replace the original image information with dynamic waiting icons to generate medium information materials containing real-time text and raw audio; Replace the original audio information with white noise to generate a single information material containing only real-time textual information. The complete dataset contains 72 self introduction materials for 24 target individuals (12 elderly and 12 young people). Among them: 1) 24 pieces of single information material: self introduction containing only real-time text information. 2) 24 pieces of medium information materials: self introduction containing both real-time text and raw audio. 3) 24 pieces of informative materials: including real-time text, raw audio, and self introductions with images. Due to the large size of the video materials, 24 out of a total of 72 self introduction materials were randomly selected and uploaded among the 24 target characters. Among them: Condition 1: 8 pieces of unitary information materials, including 4 elderly and 4 young people; Condition 2: 8 pieces of medium information materials, including 4 elderly and 4 young people; Condition 3: 8 pieces of rich information materials, including 4 elderly and 4 young people. Due to the fact that the events described in the self introduction materials are the same, in order to present the self introduction of the target characters as much as possible, the 24 materials selected correspond to 24 different target characters. Considering that the video in Condition 3 (Rich Information Material) involves personal privacy regarding the appearance of the target character, we have applied mosaic processing to the face of the target character when uploading the material to reduce potential risks.
