Expression of MDR genes in the dermatophyte Trichophyton tonsurans was studied using RNA sequencing. 'Sensitive' strains of the dermatophyte were isolated from patients with superficial dermatophytoses, and cultured in sub-inhibitory concentrations of different antifungals. The differential expression of the MDR genes was studied using RNA sequencing.
