Seasonal change of airborne pollen in the urban city (Tokyo)

Airborne pollen cause pollinosis and have the potential to enhance cloud formation; however, the number of monitored species was very limited due to technical difficulties for the morphotype identification. In this project, we applied the eDNA approach to the airborne pollen communities in the suburb of the Tokyo metropolitan area in Japan, where their landscape is a mixture of urban, rural, and mountain, showed pollen seasonality of various type of taxonomies in the spring season (Feb- mid-May).
