RNA based Transcriptomic fusion gene analysis in Poorly Differentiated Thyroid carcinoma

Thyroid Cancer is the most common endocrine cancer globally. TSH-dependent differentiated thyroid cancer is associated with an excellent prognosis. However, poorly differentiated thyroid cancer (PDTC) is associated with higher rates of distant metastases and decreased disease-free survival. Understanding the molecular pathogenesis of cancer initiation and progression can pave the way for targeted molecular therapy. To date, the RNA-based transcriptomic analysis of fusion genes in PDTC is less well described. Here, we evaluate the molecular landscape of PDTC using Next-Generation sequencing.
