The presence of native and endangered Australian animals on marketing platforms is an effective way of increasing their recognition amongst the general public. This study aims to evaluate how visible certain species are to society through their presence in the marketing of consumable products and to assess whether or not these species require conservation effort. Charisma is defined through the analysis of the presence of animals on Australian consumable products. The conservation status of the charismatic Australian animals is investigated to gain an understanding of how a species’ visibility in marketing might be influenced by their level of charisma. <br>
