Altitude distribution pattern and maintenance mechanism of biodiversity are hot topics in the study of biodiversity and ecosystem function. Compared with the altitude distribution pattern of animal and plant diversity, the study on the altitude distribution pattern of soil microbial diversity is still in its infancy, especially in the Karst Garben Basin, which is a special habitat. Consequently, we sequenced the V3-V4 region of the 16S rRNA gene and determined the physical and chemical properties of soil samples at different altitudes and depths to reveal the driving mechanism of bacterial community distribution in the Karst Garben Basin.
