Share of families with savings bonds in the U.S. 2007-2022, by age of family head

Between 2007 and 2022, the share of families holding savings bonds in the United States decreased significantly. In particular, among households in which the family head was between 45 and 54 years of age the share of savings bonds holders dropped from 19 percent in 2007 to approximately 6.8 percent in 2022. A similar trend can be observed for nearly all age groups.
