Replication data for \"Exploration of the Dynamic Interaction between Oil, Financial Development, and Foreign Direct Investment Inflows in Africa’s Leading Oil-Producing Economies\"
收藏资源简介:
This dataset supports the empirical analysis of the relationship between oil resource abundance and foreign direct investment (FDI) inflows in selected African economies. It is a balanced panel dataset covering ten major oil-producing countries in Africa over the period 2000–2022. The data include key macroeconomic and institutional variables such as FDI inflows, oil reserves-to-production ratio (OILRP), financial development, economic growth, inflation, trade openness, and institutional quality, along with an interaction term capturing the moderating role of financial development. The dataset is compiled from multiple publicly available sources, including the World Bank’s World Development Indicators, the International Monetary Fund, the African Development Bank, the Organization of the Petroleum Exporting Countries (OPEC), and the Worldwide Governance Indicators. The uploaded files include the cleaned dataset used for estimation, as well as Stata do-files required to replicate the descriptive statistics, panel unit root tests, cointegration tests, and Pooled Mean Group (PMG) estimations reported in the study. The purpose of this dataset is to ensure transparency and reproducibility of the empirical results and to facilitate further research on resource dependence, financial development, and investment dynamics in oil-abundant African economies.
