资源简介:
Mice were fed a diet with increased fat content (19 %, w/w) for 12 weeks to induce obesity. Each diet was supplemented with 10 % (w/w) of different wheat grain fractions - either whole grain (WG), white flour (WF), bran (BR) or aleurone (AL). Two additional groups received oat bran (OA) or cellulose (CE), instead. At week 0 (= start of intervention), week 2, 4, 6, 8 and 10, feces samples were collected and microbiome composition was determined using 16S-rRNA gene sequencing. In week 11 weeks on the diet, mice were euthanized and short chain fatty acid concentrations and the microbial composition of caecum contents were analyzed (data submitted as SRA project PRJNA545049, see also the associated publication PMC6836242).
