Sediment elemental X-ray Fluorescence record at IODP Site U1479 during the Mid-Pleistocene Transition.
收藏资源简介:
This dataset documents the Mid-Pleistocene Transition elemental composition of Barium (Ba), Calcium (Ca), Iron (Fe), Potassium (K), Strontium (Sr), Titanium (Ti), and Zironium (Zr) in sediments from IODP Site U1479, drilled ~85 nautical miles southwest of Cape Town, South Africa during IODP Expedition 361: South African Climates (30 January to 31 March 2016). The data were obtained via X-ray fluorescence (XRF) analysis using an Avaatech XRF core scanner at the Scripps Institution of Oceanography (USA). Core sections were prepared by scraping and covering with SPEXCerti Ultralene film to ensure clean measurement surfaces. XRF measuermentes were taken every 2 cm and data were collected using 10 kV (Al to Fe) and 30 kV (Ba, Sr, Zr). This dataset focuses on reporting Ba, Ca, Fe, K, Sr, Ti, and Zr ratios.
