Number of deaths due to congenital heart disease in Sweden 2022-2023, by age group

In Sweden, 715 children aged between one month and one year died due to congenital heart disease in 2023. There was an increase in the number of deaths from 2022, with 222 more deaths for babies one month or younger and 221 deaths more for those between one month and a year old. The lowest number of deaths due to congenital heart diseases was in the age group from one to five years, while the highest number of deaths in 2022 and 2023 occurred among individuals of 60 years and older.
