This Zenodo record provides the processed data archive supporting the manuscript "Oil crop supply chains drive rising global biodiversity loss and outsource impacts to the tropics." The study quantifies spatially explicit biodiversity impacts from global oil-crop cultivation between 1995 and 2020 and traces these impacts along oil-crop supply chains using a hybridized multi-regional input-output (MRIO) framework, enhanced supply-chain mapping, and structural decomposition analysis. This version contains the data archive only; the analysis code is maintained in a separate repository, as described in the Code availability section below. Contents of dataset_v1.1.zip README.md - folder descriptions, units, scaling conventions, and loading examples.Gridded oil-crop distribution and land-use intensity (LUI) layers at 0.05 degree resolution (WGS84).Spatially explicit biodiversity-impact rasters (GeoTIFF) at 0.05 degree resolution (WGS84).Country-level biodiversity impacts aligned with FABIO (CSV) for the LU_change and LU_constant scenarios (1995-2020).Hybridized FABIO-REX3 intermediate matrices (RDS; partial redistribution, derived matrices only).Supply-chain impact mapping outputs (RDS): 5D arrays for food, non-food, and combined final uses.Outsourcing, or tele-connection, matrices (RDS): producer-consumer country matrices for 1995 and 2020, including LU-constant variants.Structural Decomposition Analysis (SDA) results (CSV): driver decomposition of changes in consumption-based biodiversity impacts from 1995 to 2020. Key indicator The headline metric is potential global species loss (PSLglo), expressed as the percentage (%) of global species (plants and terrestrial vertebrates) potentially lost due to land use. To preserve numerical precision, most biodiversity-impact outputs are stored as PSLglo x 1e8; convert to percent by dividing the stored value by 1e8. GeoTIFF rasters use 0 as the NoData value. Data scope The archive contains processed data supporting the manuscript. Primary source datasets and original MRIO inputs remain available from their respective providers or, where redistribution is restricted, from the corresponding author upon reasonable request.
