Longitudinal analyses of COVID-19 patients revealed increasingly dysregulated and sustained inflammatory immune responses in severe disease compared to moderate disease. Maladaptive immune profiles included persistent type 1, type 2 and type 3 cytokines, as well as a mix of monocyte-related chemokines, and growth factors.
