资源简介:
The Radiosonde WHyMSIE dataset contains observations recorded by National Weather Service (NWS) weather balloons. These observations were collected during the Westcoast and Heartland Hyperspectral Microwave Sensor Intensive Experiment (WHyMSIE) field campaign. WHyMSIE aimed to capture a wide variety of thermodynamic, moisture, and planetary boundary layer regimes across a variety of surface types. Comparing hyperspectral microwave retrievals from CoSMIR-H with in situ temperature and humidity information will allow for scientific advancement of remote-sensing techniques into the hyperspectral microwave era and improved understanding of the planetary boundary layer at different measurement scales. These radiosonde data files include wind direction, dew point temperature, geopotential height, mixing ratio, atmospheric pressure, relative humidity, wind speed, temperature, potential temperature, equivalent potential temperature, and virtual potential temperature measurements at various levels of the troposphere. The WHyMSIE radiosonde dataset consists of 18 individual weather balloon launches from October 22 through November 15, 2025. The launches came from five National Weather Service offices; Albuquerque, New Mexico, Amarillo, Texas, Flagstaff, Arizona, Norman, Oklahoma, and Omaha, Nebraska. The files are in ICARTT format. This is an ASCII format with metadata requirements.
