Protecting Natural and Cultural Heritage Ku-ring-gai Chase National Park - Project 2 Rock Art Sites

Ku-ring-gai Chase National Park is Australia's oldest national park established primarily for nature conservation. It is one of the top ranking biodiversity reserves, recognised as a species rich area on a national scale. In addition, there are many hundreds of important Aboriginal rock art sites in Ku-ring-gai National Park. Since European colonisation the rock art has been exposed to threats from natural and human impacts and many are in need of mitigation works to help preserve them for future generations for their cultural, scientific and tourism values. This project will carefully remove some of the current threats to multiple key rock art sites as well as improve native habitat in the surrounding areas.
