The possible mechanism of Probio-M8 to relieve the symptoms of asthma patients

As a chronic disease, asthma is a consequence of dysregulated host-microbe interactivity in the context of lung inflammation. Intervene of gut microbiota using immunomodulatory probiotics, alone or synergize with other treatments, are potential strategies for the enhance curative effect for asthma. Here, we conducted a randomized, double-blind, and placebo-controlled human trial that 55 asthma patients were divided into the probiotic (n=29) and control (n=26) groups, receiving the routine regimen with or without probiotics for 3 months, respectively. Collectively, our results suggested that the specific probiotic synergize with conventional therapy to improve the clinical efficacy in asthma therapy by probiotic-modified bacteriome, bacteriophage, gut microbial metabolic potential and host immune, which also highlight the regulating the gut-lung axis in is a crucial link in asthma therapy.
