Three synthetic microbial consortia (WY, DH, and PQ) were developed via a top-down enrichment strategy using sediment samples from the Liao River Estuary, the Bohai Sea, and the Yellow Sea, respectively. To elucidate the metabolic potential for crude oil degradation in the WY, DH, and PQ consortia, metagenomic sequencing were conducted.
